Community Property Debts

In many cases, debts owed to an ex-spouse pursuant to a community property partition are dischargeable.  In some cases the spouse who the debt is owed can seek relief through the Bankruptcy Court by showing that the Debtor Spouse has the ability to pay the debt and the failure to pay such debt will place the other spouse in financial difficulties.  For advice on discharging community property debt, please contact us for a free in-person consultation.
